Serve as the "Hub of the Wheel" bringing various groups together to work on a wide range of issues.

​Create an annual "Mayors Summit" as an opportunity for community stakeholders to discuss progress, identify and address needs within the community.

Increase the presence of the Mayor in Economic Development initiatives including working with the Borough Council, Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Mechanicsburg Partnership

Engage Surrounding Communities and Promote Mechanicsburg as a place to visit, work and live.
CHIEF ENFORCER

Serve as the chief law enforcement officer of the Borough, responsible for maintaining order and enforcement of ordinances.

Coordinate with the Borough Council and Chief of Police on priorities for public safety including improving pedestrian and traffic safety.

Emphasize Community Policing and visibility of the Police Department in the Community

Work with Borough Council and Chief of Police to facilitate accreditation of the Police Department

Improve communication between the Police Department, Borough Council and the Community at large.

Revitalize the Crime Watch Program working with the Police Department to grow and expand outreach.
CHIEF ADVOCATE

A voice OF the people - conveying the concerns and wishes of the people to the Borough Council and Police to improve decision-making.

A voice FOR the people - communicating Borough and Police Department activities and action plans to the community.

County, State, and Federal Legislators - The mayor will be the borough's Chief Advocate, ensuring our needs and concerns are prioritized by legislators.

Business and Industry - The mayor will advocate for business and industry with government, making Mechanicsburg an attractive location for businesses.

Surrounding Municipalities - The mayor and Council President will advocate for our borough with surrounding municipalities.

ABOUT JOHN
John Anthony's deep roots in Mechanicsburg and extensive community involvement uniquely qualify him for leadership as Mayor of Mechanicsburg. He has served across many community organizations including: President of the Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Mechanicsburg Partnership; Mechanicsburg Area School Board and Cumberland Perry Vocational and Technical School Board member; and leadership roles on the Recreation and Fire Company Consolidation committees.
For the past nine years, John has served on the Mechanicsburg Borough Council, currently as Vice President and Finance Committee Chair. He also founded impactful community initiatives like Community Day in the Park and the Mechanicsburg Bucks program, and holds key roles in organizations like RENAISSANCE Mechanicsburg and the New Birth of Freedom Council. His dedication was recognized with the Downtown Partnership's 2023 Person of the Year award and as the 2025 Cumberland County Scouting Breakfast honoree.
John has lived and raised his family in Mechanicsburg for over 20 years while running a local mortgage lending business.
